more!
i just dropped off more/new items at aviary gallery on thursday, some to replace the sold and some totally new designs. so, if you’re in the jamaica plain area you should stop on by, especially for jamaica plain open studios! go bananas!
fall is in the air!
some of you might be dreading the end of summer, and i guess i might be a little sad since i was only able to get to the beach once. but i have to confess, this is my favorite time of year. sure there’s more yard work and the year starts to get more hectic and crazed but i think that’s part of it for me. for some reason i get more energy from all of that. i guess i like feeling kind of bonkers. with all of that being said, i’m really excited to be setting up shop at the harvard fall festival. so, if you are out apple picking or sight seeing or are in need of a new piece of jewelry you should come by and see what i’ve been up to. and if you want to wish me a happy 30th birthday, you can do that too. let’s celebrate!
the literal family tree.
that’s me. perched on the third from the top branch.
i am one of four kids in my family. the ultimate middle child. or so i insist because my brother (second in line) doesn’t make the cut being the only boy and all.
so there i am. working hard in the middle trying to keep the peace while managing to be quirkier than maybe what my parents had in mind, easily distracted and living in some kind of “la-la land”. i can still hear my dad tease me about it. naturally, i can’t seem to finish one project before i start the next…you get the picture.
families are interesting. so many dynamics so little time.
sometimes it’s nice to have a literal illustration of what you’re a part of.
so what’s your family like?
my apologies and a few excuses
needless to say i have been quite absent from my blog. for the folks that like to check in from time to time, i apologize. i should confess that i am somewhat new to the world of websites and blogs, that is, i’ve always passed that business onto my more adept husband. and now or at least 6 or so months ago i decided it was high time i learn and just do it. no sense in fighting it. even though i’ve spent the last 5 years of my life doing just that. i could go on and on about how old fashioned i am and resistant to technology and just about anything that makes life easier. well…except for air conditioning. but maybe i will save that for another day. i just thought i should at least give you a little excuse for my turtle-like posts. so bear with me as i try to conquer my fear of the computer world of business and self promotion.
with all of that being said, i did manage to go on a 2 week vacation to brazil of all places. (thank you dear cousin for getting hitched in brazil to a lady who along with my mom and sisters keeps me in business.) i tried to absorb everything i saw in brazil and i’d like to think i’ve been enlightened because of it. so stay tuned to inspired work.
the image of the bird above was taken at the Jardim Botanico in Rio de Janeiro. we didn’t get the best photograph of him but i kept seeing this guy everywhere we went. i kind of miss him.
