what can i say?

i was born and raised in rockford, illinois. from 2000-2004 i studied painting and sculpture at the art institute of boston at lesley university. after graduation, i began to develop a taste for jewelry-making, incorporating antique objects into beaded necklaces and earrings. in 2006, i moved to santa fe, new mexico and began an apprenticeship with renowned goldsmith and granulation expert curtis woods. for three years i learned to make jewelry from fine metals and stones, working primarily with sterling silver, but also assisting in curtis’ more elaborate projects. since returning to massachusetts, i have built on a style that is both modern and nostalgic, continuing to craft pieces around antique buttons, coins, buckles, stones, and pearls. birds and trees have become big themes for the silver work. and have i mentioned i love science?
